34 weeks

The countdown is on. I feel like we're so close now. I have so much to do and so little energy to do it. Sleeping at night is still difficult. If I get up only twice to pace around the house it's a good night. So the non sleeping thing is making me feel exhausted during the day. Well, growing this baby is also making me feel exhausted.

I had a shower at work today and got lots of wonderful stuff for Jacob! It was super cute. My team did a rubber ducky theme for me and it turned out so adorable. I have a shower in my neighborhood my friends are throwing me next weekend. That will be fun too but more laid back as relaxed (which I like too). We're just doing a cookout.

I just had a dr appt on Wednesday. It was in and out. Belly measurement and doppler reading. his heart beat was in the 140s. All good. I thought they were going to do the group B strep test and blood work. But they pushed that back to my next appointment. So on my next appointment I will do the group B strep test, blood work, and a cervical check. The cervical check is to see if there are any signs that Jacob is trying to make a jail break. But he seems perfectly content to ride this out. My next dr appt will be 2 weeks from Wednesday, so I think that's April 10th. From that point on I will be going once weekly until he arrives!

Colin has been doing really well. He's still learning words like crazy. He it's getting really good with his letters now. He gets almost all of them right (unless he gets bored). We tried potty training. We made it a week and threw in the towel for now. I could just tell he wasn't getting it and I don't want this to be a struggle or traumatic experience if we can just wait a little longer and have it go smoothly.

I am posting some pictures of Jacobs room. It's getting closer to being done. I need a curtain and his mattress and I think it will be pretty close.

Until next week!

33 weeks

Holy cow. I feel like a cow. My belly feels so huge this week. I'm not sure where the next 6 weeks are going to go. The baby feels big, I feel big, everything feels big! I feel really tired all the time, and uncomfortable. I can't sleep more than a few hours at a time because I can't stay in one position for very long. Every night I get up at around 230 and have to walk around and stretch out. My lower back has been killing me. I went to a chiropractor but he wanted a bunch of money and me to do a program where I go 3-5 times a week. I just don't have the money or time for that. So I'll keep just trying to get through the nights as best as I can.

We put up the appliqués in Jacobs room. I'll try to get some pics and post them. I think it came out pretty cute. There's still some things we need to do but it looks cute.

We started potty training this week with Colin. He's doing ok. He goes sometimes but hasn't yet told us BEFORE he has to go. But at least he's now letting us know when he did go. He says- uh oh made mess! So we're going to keep working on it with him. Hopefully he'll catch on soon. Because I don't think I have time to do intensive potty training with a new born.

Next week at work they are throwing me a baby shower. I'm excited about that. It should be a fun time. More people rsvpd than I thought would so there's going to be a decent turn out. I feel loved! :)

My next dr appt is Wednesday. It'll be my 34 weeks appointment. I'll have one more biweekly appointment at 36 weeks and then I start going weekly. They are taking blood at this next appointment, not sure what for. And they are also doing the group B strep test. I was negative last time so hopefully this time too.

Well- I am READY for this baby to be here. I mean- I want it to go full term, but ready for full term to be here!

32 weeks

32 weeks prego! Less than 8 weeks to go! It's getting real now. There are some big movements going on in my belly. I'm wondering how much more intense they will get, because it says he could possibly double in size before his due date. Yikes! Other than that I've been feeling pretty good. It's getting a little hard to sleep at night. I wake up a lot, and sometimes can't go back to sleep. And I'm super sleepy sitting at my desk during the day.

My work is throwing me a shower 2 weeks from today. I hope I have a good turn out, and they don't hold this whole party for a few people to come!

Our projects are whittling down. We are going to paint the downstairs bathroom and replace the fixtures next weekend. And then after that I just have to start putting together baby items. Getting them out of the attic, dusting them off and making sure they are good to go.

I think we're going to do another hospital tour. I know we've been there once before but maybe they've changed something in the last 2.5 years. Id just feel more comfortable going in on delivery day if I've had a chance to walk around and ask questions a little before.

My mom is coming over this weekend to help me put up the decorations in Jacobs room. So I'll post some pictures of that when we're done. I made some art to hang in his room. I think it turned out pretty cute, I hope it goes with everything.

Today I had a doctors appointment. I didn't see my regular doctor, I saw the other doctor in her practice. She was really nice. It was nice to get to know her just in case she's the one who comes to deliver Jacob. She said everything looked great, the heartbeat was normal. I go again in two weeks.

31 weeks

The baby has felt the same size for a little while now, but I think he's starting another growth spurt. His movements feel very big and when he wants to stretch out he doesn't let those pesky uterine walls get in his way, or that bladder to hold him back. He just pushes them around. He has poked one spot on my upper belly with his foot so many times its actually sore to the touch.

I've been feeling really good lately, just get tired out quick. I was the same way with Colin. I felt like I was dying the first half of the pregnancy and pretty normal the second half.

I've been trying to get prepared at work to go on leave. I'm trying to teach other people my job so they can cover my spot while I'm gone, but its not easy because my job is so detailed. I've been getting kinda stressed about it but I need to just chill out. It's not my job while I'm out on leave. I'm sure work will be the furthest thing from my mind once I lay eyes on my precious baby boy. Plus stress gives me Braxton hicks contractions so I try to make myself relax as much as I can because those really hurt and it feels hard to breathe. So the less stress the better.

Our house is coming along nicely. We've been checking a lot off of our to do list and it feels really good to be getting things done. I need to start again on the nursery. I've kind of put it on the back burner while other things have been getting done but I need to take care of that soon. In the couple of weeks it needs to be done.

That's all I really have this week that I can think of. Dr appt next week! So glad tomorrow is Friday!

30 Week Dr Appt

Last Thursday I had my 30 week doctors visit.  Like I thought, it was pretty uneventful.  She said the baby was very active and moving all over the place.  She was having to chase him around my belly with the doppler to get a read of his heart rate.  She measured my belly and said everything looked great. She felt around and found his head was down.  Getting prepared for his debut.  8 weeks feels so short sometimes and so long sometimes.  It seems like not very long to get a lot of stuff done, but then seems like forever till I get to see him.  Anyway, my doctor will be out of town on vacation for my next appointment in 2 weeks so ill bee seeing the other doctor in the office.  And that will be good just in case I go into labor on my own and the other doctor is on call to deliver, i'll have at least talked to her once! I'm also glad my doctor is getting her vacation out of the way just before it gets close to me being due so I don't have to worry about her being on vacation when I deliver.  She said even when she's not technically 'on call' she still delivers most of her babies unless she absolutely can't.  Like if she's had a drink or she's out of town.  She doesn't just let the other doctor deliver because Modern Family has a new episode on that night, haha. So my next appt is Thursday March 14th.
