Last appointment

So I just had my last appointment. She wants me to check into the hospital at 430am to get settled and started on pitocin and she said she'll be there around 730 to break my water. So- I guess it's really happening! We're having this baby tomorrow! It's crazy that its finally here. Sometimes I feel like my pregnancy was short but most of the time feel like it was really long. I'm starting to get nervous. I hope everything goes smoothly and easy. I hope by tomorrow afternoon I'm holding my baby boy saying- that was a piece of cake. Haha. I'll let you know if I goes like that.

So I'm not sure when I'll feel up to updating again. But I will post pics soon :)

38/39 weeks

This post is really late- ill be 39 weeks tomorrow. I went to the doctor on Wednesday and she checked me. She said I was not ready yet but would be soon. We scheduled an induction date for Wednesday May 1st. So unless he comes before then, we will check in at 630am. She will probably break my water around 7 and then we'll be on our way to his birthday!

I have been having contractions but they haven't been close enough together to be considered labor. We're cleaning up around the house and trying to make sure everything done before baby comes- like getting the van cleaned and getting Colin's hair cut.

I go back to the doctor on Tuesday for one last check to see how things look and make sure we're all ready to go for Wednesday.

Sometimes I'm really nervous and come times I'm ready to go and get it done. But most times I'm nervous. I thought I would be less nervous, since I've been through it once. But I feel just as nervous.

I'm very curious to see what Colin thinks of the baby. I think he won't really realize he is part of our family until we bring him home. We have big brother gifts for Colin and Colin got gifts for Jacob.

I'll try to post when there's something post-worthy going on. And of course upload pictures of Jacob when he's here!

37 Weeks

Today I had my 37 week appointment.  She said that his heart rate was perfect.  Everything with me weight, blood pressure and other tests wise was perfect. She said he's measuring perfect and is head down.  She said he's a smart baby and knows the way out. She did a cervix check and said that i'm the same as last week- so no change there.  He may be in for the long haul.  I've heard second babies come earlier sometimes but he's probably perfectly happy hanging around until I have to evict him.

I'm still having no serious pain or illness to speak of. Just usual pregnancy pain and aches.  Don't get me wrong- those hurt and i'm very ready to start feeling like a human and being able to walk straight and not wobble and sit, lay down, stand or walk for more than 30 minutes at a time.  I am still having that leg pain but the sonogram didnt show any blood clots or anything so apparently it's just little Jacob getting on my nerves- literally. So to sum up every minute of my 24 hour day with one word- uncomfortable.  But it'll be over in a flash. The next couple weeks will fly by and he'll be here. Which is scary for all different reasons.

I'm so curious to see how Colin reacts.  I don't think he'll realize right away this is our baby and he's staying.  I think he'll think he's a visitor and wonder when HIS parents are coming for him. haha. Colin is getting so smart he amazes me everyday.  He says at least one thing every single day that shocks me and makes me beam with pride.  He calls out letters and numbers from the window of the car as we pass by things.  He loves shapes and colors.  He loves learning- but I don't think he realizes its learning yet. I think he's playing a game with himself or us and he also loves just identifying things.  We went through the house the other day while he just pointed out what was mommy and daddy's and Colin's. Which side of the bed was mommy's and which side was daddy's. Which toothbrush was whos. Who sits where at the table.  He just loves showing me how much he knows. And of course I gush over every piece of information he tells us.  We went to see Thomas the train on Saturday and I think he liked it but was a little overwhelmed.  He just sat very quietly during the train ride.  Then that evening we went to a soccer game.  He is getting more and more into sports and understanding the difference- even though he still mixes them up a lot.  He really wants a baseball glove so I think that Jacob will get him one once he is born. :)

Well, not too many more pregnant weeks to write a blog for.  I will try to keep up after Jacob gets here- just to let people know what's going on with having an infant and a two year old.

36 weeks

So we're on the home stretch now. And it feels like everything's being thrown at us at once. But if we have to take care of stuff- it may as well be now before the baby gets here.

First the good stuff:
I had my 36 week appointment today. I finally had my group b strep test today and a blood draw and a cervix check. She said I'm one centimeter dilated and I had some 'wiggle'. Whatever that means. But that she wouldn't call that signs of labor yet.

I've been feeling ok- just really tired and out of breath all the time. And sleep is still hard with so much pressure on my lower back and having to get up to go to the bathroom so much. And I still have pelvic pain. But my doctor said that's all normal.

We're going to see Thomas the train this weekend in grapevine. It's an actual train that looks like Thomas that the kids get a ride on. I think Colin will love it!

Now the not so good:

Monday Cameron had high blood pressure episode that ended us in the hospital for an overnight stay to test him for everything under the sun just in case it was heart related. Good news is- no heart issues. Bad news is we still don't know why his BP was up.

Next up, lately my leg has been hurting. It's my inner leg on the inside from the ankle to my upper thigh- in a straight line. Today I told my doctor about it and she thinks it may be a blood clot in my leg. So I have to go first thing tomorrow and get a sonogram on my leg to find out for sure. Add that to the long list of medical bills we've been racking up this week.

35 weeks

Not much to report this week. No drs appt this week. But next week I start going every week. My next appt is Wednesday April 10th. They will be doing my group B strep test- a blood draw- and a cervix check to see where we stand and if there are any signs of labor beginning.

I feel like I'm all baby. His movements are very strong and sometimes hurt. But the worse thing right now is sleeping. He's pressing on nerves in my lower back and I cannot lay in bed longer than 2 hours at a time so I have to get up and walk around many times a night. I'm also always burning up. So I try to turn the air down but I don't want to freeze out Cameron and Colin. So I'm still sweating and they are bundling up.

I'm posting my 35 week picture and then a comparative picture of me at 5 weeks and then 35 weeks. What a difference!
