Today is Christmas Eve! And I have been feeling really good lately! Lets hope not to jinx it. There are tons of gifts for Colin under the tree. I keep telling myself its ok to buy him so much, because this is the last Christmas Colin will be an only child. His big gift is a large wooden swing set. But we haven't gotten it together yet, and its supposed to be nasty weather on Xmas day anyway so we'll just wait until after Xmas to assemble it.
Colin has been very sick with a bad cold. He's been waking up very congested and we've been really tired because of it. I'm starting to get flashbacks of having a baby again and waking up every 2 hours. Colin's cold I think is spreading. I now have a sore throat and Cameron's feeling pretty bad too.
Nothing much to report on the baby front this week. The holidays have kept me pretty preoccupied and not much baby on the brain lately. We have to get started ok thinking of names and baby room themes.
Hope you all have a merry Christmas!

20 week sonogram
Today was my 20 week sonogram. They had me drink a bunch of water before my appointment to make sure that they could get a good view of the baby. But then they had me wait a long time and waiting with a full bladder is no fun. Finally they took us back and all bladder pain was forgotten when I saw my little baby on the screen.
She made us doubt our sureness that it was a boy by saying that they aren't always right at 13 weeks and that its really too early to tell. But she quickly confirmed that they were correct and we are expecting a bouncing baby boy!
He was so adorable already! I know he's no where near ready but he looked so perfect. I could make out his face and hands and feet. He kept rubbing his eyes. He must have been tired! And he was curled up into a little ball, most of the Tim with his feet by his head. He is already taking on some of his brothers gestures. He had his feet crossed at the ankles. Such a cutie!
After the sonogram we met with our doctor and she told us that the sonogram pictures were gorgeous and that things couldn't look more perfect! She said all of his organs looked great and his spinal cord and even my placenta was in a great spot! I am so thankful that he is growing so well and looking so healthy!!
Mom on the other hand is still having a hard time. I'm so sorry I didn't blog last week. I have been so sick and still don't feel great. I was out of work for 2.5 days with a stomach bug and now I think I've possibly developed IBS (irritable bowl syndrome). This is just a self diagnosis so far but I think 10 days of stomach issues and severe pain is too long for a stomach bug everyone else had for 24 hours. But I won't get into anymore detail because its just all TMI.
Today was the school shooting in CT. I was so shocked and sad when I heard about it and as details kept coming out. Being pregnant and hormonal and having a small child just really made it worse. I can't help but keep being horrified at how the parents must be feeling at this exact moment. How innocent those babies were and how scared they must have been. How there are empty beds tonight and christmas presents under trees never to be opened. I just cried and cried. Tried to imagine just how absolutely devastated I would be if I lost Colin. Especially in such a tragic way and knowing he went so scared. This will be a day that you never forget. Because something just unfathomable and terrible has happened. I'm racking up too many of those days in my lifetime and I'm only 29. I'm scared to see what other horrifying days lie ahead for all of us in our lifetimes. The things we will witness. All I can do for now is thank The Lord that Colin is sleeping soundly in his bed tonight and dreaming of Thomas the train and lightning McQueen.

Questions?
I try to wrack my brain every week and think of everything i'm feeling and experiencing, but if i'm leaving anything out or anyone has any questions, ill be glad to answer them! You can text me if you have my # or post a comment on here with the question and ill do a new post with all the answers. If not ill assume i'm doing a good enough job of keeping everyone informed! haha!
18 Weeks
Sorry I'm a little late with this post. I've got a lot on my mind with the holidays coming up!
I've been feeling a lot better lately, but strangely got very sick Monday and still don't feel great today. But I'm still very grateful that for the most part I've been feeling much much better. And I'm glad I'm feeling better because my FMLA got denied by my company because my doctors office couldn't ever get the form filled out correctly after 6 times. But my sick time starts over in January so hopefully I can make it until then and not miss any days.
My next appointment is Friday December 14th and it is a sonogram appointment so ill get to see the little baby again and make SURE its a boy. Ill make sure and post the newest pic! I don't think, like last time, ill have the 4D sonogram. I'm always tempted because it's another peek at the baby but it's kinda expensive. A few hundred dollars I've heard. If I was unsure of sex I probably would, but I don't have a good reason to right now besides just wanting to see the baby again.
So lately, about once a day, I've been feeling little butterfly movements inside. It's enough that I can tell it's definitely the baby and not gas or digestion. They are very light but are there for sure. So I try to be very still when I feel that and soak up the moment. I can't wait to feel them more firmly when the baby gets bigger. I really enjoyed that when I was pregnant with Colin; I loved feeling him move all around (when it wasn't painful).
I've been having some troubles sleeping some nights. It's either waking up to go to the bathroom, my lower back hurting, or leg cramps. I've been considering getting a pregnancy yoga video to do before bed to make sure my legs and back are (safely) stretched out so I can be, hopefully, more comfortable. That won't help the bathroom trips, but if I can only get up for that, I'd be happy!
Thanks for reading!
